EWE gas storage facilities for your gas

We provide storage capacities in our storage facilities in the north and east of Germany. Depending on your individual needs and purposes, you can inject your H-gas or L-gas through various transmission networks at our gas storage facilities and reach both the German market areas and the Dutch market – rapidly, reliably, and with great flexibility.

Huntorf has been in operation for over 50 years. It offers seven caverns which are being converted successively from L-gas to H-gas and are connected to the German market area THE.

The H-gas storage facility stands out through its excellent location – it is connected to various long-distance transport pipelines and has access to the German and the Dutch market areas.

Nüttermoor

The storage plant in Nüttermoor consists of 21 caverns. The L-gas caverns are part of the L-gas zone and are connected to the German market. The H-gas caverns are divided into clusters, some of which are connected to both the German and the Dutch market or have a connection to only one of the two market areas (Germany or the Netherlands).

The EWE H-gas zone consists of former L-gas caverns at our Nüttermoor and Huntorf sites which are connected to the THE market area. For you as the customer, this means additional attractive capacities for storing H-gas.

The L-gas storage zone is connected to the THE market area. During the L- to H-gas storage conversion, the L-gas caverns will be converted successively to H-gas.
